A child learns to love books and build reading skills at home starting from birth. The Edmonton Public Library can help. Ready. Set. READ! is a free program dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books to children from birth to age five.  Books are delivered straight to your home and are yours to keep forever. Ready. Set. READ! is offered in partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and made possible by generous donations to EPL.

Registration Information
Ready. Set. READ! is currently full, but each month spaces become available as children graduate. Registration opens for online registrations on the second Tuesday of each month at 12 pm (noon MT).

Registration follows a first-come, first served model and remains open until all available spots for that month are filled. If registration fills up before you can register, please try again when registration opens the following month. EPL does not maintain a waitlist.

Ready. Set. READ! is available only to children who live in Edmonton. Please wait until your child has been born to apply. We do not accept registrations for children who have not been born yet.
Please visit epl.ca/ready-set-read/ for the most up-to-date information on program availability and to learn more about our registration process. If you require assistance, staff in any of our 21 library locations can help.
