Dawson Creek Public Library
The Dawson Creek Public Library took over as champion for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in the South Peace Region as of September 1, 2020. We are looking forward to continuing this great service for the children of our area.
Our initial coverage area for DPIL includes Dawson Creek, Pouce Coupe, Electoral Area D (Arras, Bessborough, Cut Bank, Doe River, Farmington, Kilkerran, Rolla, Tomslake and Tower Lake), Groundbirch, Sunset Prairie and Willow Valley. We plan to review our coverage area on a regular basis. If you have any trouble registering your child please contact us at the email address below.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL) is a community-based program providing children with free, home-delivered books from birth to their 5th birthday. DPIL was founded and created by songwriter, musician, actress, author and business-woman, Dolly Parton, in her hometown of Sevierville, Tennessee in 1996. The home library encourages reading at home between parents, caregivers, grandparents, siblings and the child.
The Dawson Creek Public Library is pleased to be working with The Dollywood Foundation – Canada to bring this important program to the children of the BC South Peace River area. A big thank you to the Rotary Club of Dawson Creek - Sunrise for starting and funding a large part of this program over the past two years. Please contact us if you would like to be part of this initiative.
