Our early literacy programs provids free books for newborns, toddlers, and preschoolers!

We will mail your child an age-appropriate book every month, from birth until they are 5 years old. The books are brand new and they are yours to keep. It’s all free to families living in Chilliwack, Harrison Hot Springs, Agassiz, Cultus Lake and the town of Hope. 

The books are selected by an advisory panel of experts from the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The books are fun, engaging and developmentally appropriate. Many are classics, beloved by parents and children alike and include many Canadian favourites. 

Reading books to very young children is one of the best head starts you can give them. It exposes children to new words and language and shows them that their parents value reading. That’s why we want every child in our community to have access to lots of great books.

The Fraser Valley Imagination Library is a collaboration between the Chilliwack Optimists Club, Made to Measure Consulting, Lolly's Fashion Lounge & the Dollywood Foundation.  We rely on donations from individual donors, local businesses and service clubs.
