10th Birthday Conference Set For 29 June In Doncaster!
Join the Dollywood Foundation for our 10th Birthday Conference celebrating 10 years of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in the UK. Our theme is ‘Inform, Inspire, Celebrate’! We’ll start on the evening of Thursday 28 June for an optional evening event. The Thursday night activities are included in the ticket cost. The evening features an Imagination Library author, a buffet, a welcome drink and networking opportunities.
The main conference is from 9:00 – 5:00 on Friday, 29 June, at the Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster. Highlights include an introduction from Ed Miliband MP, and presentations from USA-based Theresa Carl. Theresa will tell us how she manages the Governors Books From Birth initiative that provides Imagination Library books to more than 282,000 children a month across Tennessee. We’ll hear from our largest UK affiliate, Stephanie Douglas, Head of Early Years, Doncaster Council, on the value of the Imagination Library in Doncaster. Other celebrated speakers include Charlotte Hacking from CLPE and Ginny Lunn CEO of Beanstalk. Interactive workshops, led by our partners, will explore fundraising, communications, social media, the book-selection process and how to add value to our books.
Author/illustrator Sophy Henn will join us on Friday! Sophy will share her creative inspirations for creating such fabulous books such as “Pom Pom Gets the Grumps” and “Edie.” Sophy has supported Dolly’s Library for several years, and we are looking forward to her visit during the conference.
To celebrate this 10-year milestone, we welcome affiliates, partners and supporters to the event to celebrate your achievements in mailing so many books. This event will inspire you to grow your Imagination Library. You’ll receive valuable information on the latest research and good practices!
