The Muskingum County Literacy Council utilizes the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program to reach our smallest citizens.

Brain science shows that at the age of three

a child's brain is already 80% developed.

Delivering books directly to the homes of preschoolers encourages parents to read frequently to their children. Reading aloud to a child helps connect neurons in the brain, improve language development, and prepares them to start kindergarten at grade level. Early success in school makes it more likely for a child to stay in school, graduate, attend college, and become a productive citizen.

Read to your child for twenty minutes every day
